Lakes Colomers Short Route

This route describes a short tour at the circus of Lakes Colomers marked with yellow marks.
It is a circular route of about 4.5km in length and of medium difficulty. The circuit is to follow a narrow path of low difficulty surrounded by vegetation that circulates in the middle of the lake. We will find some stones on the road and some unevenness, but the difficulty is extremely small.
The route begins and ends at the Refuge Colomers located in the Lac Major of Colomers.
To reach the refuge can follow signs for the Route Lakes Colomers described on this website. Which shows how to get there on foot from the Plans de Bansh to the Colomers Refuge and which also describes the long journey by the Circus Colomers.
It should be noted that the Nature Park have Jeeps-taxi available, it can be taken from the parking located on the Plans de Bansh and it leave you nearly the Colomers Refuge for a small fee (about

3.5 € / adult or 2.5 € per child per ride. Rates 2008 ).
Walk from the old Colomers Refuge into the new lake at our left, following the red and white trademark of the GR-11-18 and the yellow ones that follows the circuit that we are describing. Once we crossed the river, we left the GR to the right and continue heading south along the yellow markings, which take us to Lake Mort.
Another way to get there is to continue along the path that leads directly behind the refuge and surrounding the lake. This road climbs up the mountain, from where we can contemplate the magnificent views of Lac Major Colomers and also we will be heading to the Lake Mort (Death Lake) once we have made top.
At this step we must be careful watching what path we take, as there are different paths and not all make the journey by the circuses, if we take a wrong one we can even end up on the
|
Port of Caldes of 2566m!.
Once we leave behind the Lac Mort
will see a fork in the road, continue on the left side following the yellow signs, if we take the
right fork marked with red marks, we will t follow the path of long route of Lakes Colomers.
A bit later, we will have to cross a creek
and we will have at our right the Lake Garguilhs of Jos, where we'll see a small waterfall at the background that fills the
