Route Hill of Saburó
Description Route
The route goes from Espot to the Refuge of J.M. Blanc, but is only one part of the original route, that arrives until the Hill of Saburó located to about 3,5 km of the refuge and at 2,5 hours. We will follow straight on without crossing the bridge, by a wide track, following the course of the River of Peguera, we will arrive to some water tanks where we will be able to leave the car in the parking.
We will see boundary-posts on the footpath GR-11.20, that will take us to the Refuge of Josep Maria Blanc.
We will take this way and we will follow it by the left margin of the river, that will lead us to the forest and to the Meadows of Platets and Boïgots.
We will cross the River Peguera by the Bridge of El Salvador. Further above, we will cross it again by a footbridge of trunks and we will follow the river on its left margin. We could also went to that point following the path without crossing the Bridge of El Salvador nor the footbridge of trunks.
The way begins to overcome the meadows and, immediately the route leads towards the jumping torrent of the Font Grossa causing small waterfalls on its upper part. It is a good place to provide us with water.
The way changes its direction and begins to raise, the vegetation is scarce, there are few trees due to snow avalanches of the winter time. We will cross through wood footbridges that will help us to cross muddy places.
We will leave the Lake of Lladres (Lake of Thiefs) (2005 m), surrounded by abundant black pines.
We will take the near service track that comes by our right hand from the Meadows of Pierró. This track gives supplies to the Refuge Josep Maria Blanc allowing also the use of the taxis-jeeps to the tourists.
This track will approach us to the Lake of Trescuro (2044 m), where we will enjoy the extensive green grassy areas and pines, and the abundant aquatic vegetation. After drawing for different winds up of the way we will cross a

(2300 m), with characteristic surroundings, where rocks, water, pines and the blue of the sky are mixed.
The supply track continues around the lake, and at 50 m before arriving to the Refuge of Josep Maria Blanc, it turns, leaving at its left a deflection that takes to Lake Negre (2335 m) - at only 300 m of distance and 25m of unevenness. If we want to go to the Refuge of Josep Maria Blanc we will have to left the way and descend by the footpath that we will find by our right hand.
Refuge JM Blanc
This refuge serves as rest for the occasional hikers that want to enjoy some days at the mountain and see landscapes with little effort. The refuge serves also as a base camp for those others hikers that like to make great ascents, because it is possible from here to do some hills and peaks.
The refuge is surrounded by the Lakes Trullo and Tort that were united when the dam was done.
If we want to continue with the route, we will have to take the supply track that takes to the dam of the magnificent Black Lake of Peguera in South direction.
