Refuge Lake Llong

This route, located in the western sector of the Park, begins in the parking of Farga and concludes in
the Pond Llong, but if we even have left forces to continue a little more we will be able to end up
seeing the Black Pine of Peixerani and the Pond Redó.
From the parking we will cross the road and we will continue on a bridge that crosses the river Saint Nicolau.
In this point we will begin to walk by the way called Camino de los Enamorados (Lovers way). This road belongs to
the periphery of the park and follows the course of the river, allowing us to begin to appreciate the scenery.
Few minutes later we will arrive to the upper parking that is in the entrance of Aigüestortes.
This is the last parking to leave the vehicle and in the one that we will find the hut of information of the park.
The road that we will follow is signalled as Route of Llúdriga (Otter route). The road lapses for the valley of
San Nicolau, among grasslands and deciduous forests that allow us to contemplate the wide variety of vegetation.
We will arrive to a bridge named Pont Palanca de Pei, later on a part of the route will begin with the paved floor
and will continue a little more after crossing for the road of Aigüestortes, in which the service of taxis circulates.
We will pass beside La Borda de Gaspar and in a few time we will arrive at the Hermitage of Sant Nicolau, a
track will leave us in the road.

From here we will contemplate the Pond
of Llebreta (1619 m).
Crossing the road will continue the journey and we will be able to contemplate the spectacular Waterfalls of Saint
Esperit. The route will continue ascending smoothly for the valley, following the course of the river by our right
hand.
We will cross the esplanade of the old parking and we will continue until arriving

to the flat d'Aigüestortes,
where those waters of the river of San Nicolau wind creating numerous bends between pines and grasslands. Here we will find
the hut of information of the park, located near the Dam of Sant Esperit (1826 m).
Behind the hut of information we will find a viewpoint that has some views on the valley that is worthwhile to visit.
Later on we will be able to continue for a track that will take us directly to the pod named l'Estany Refuge
Llong (1985 m)
or to carry out an alternative route
